Gracing many a magazine cover and turning heads on the biggest hair ads, Leela Tikadar is one model that shows making it to the top is all about hard work, perseverance and talent.
I had the pleasure of working with her and she has the face of an angel that is a makeup artist's delight. Here is an insight to her amazing career:

    1. How long have you been modelling?
I've been modelling for over 6 years now.

    2. What are some of the coolest ad campaigns/shoots you've done?
I did a television campaign for Schwarzkopf Live Colour XXL. I had purple hair!

    3. What three products are in your handbag right now?
Carmex with spf 15 - can't live without lip balm. Sally Hansen Double Duty strengthening top coat nail polish in clear and tangle teaser -does a brush count? Being a skin, hair and hand model these are essentials for me.

    4. How do you keep your skin so flawless?
Hmm...my skin is quite high maintenance actually! It is oily, dry and spotty. I always cleanse, tone and moisturise, massaging well to promote collagen and brightness. I also use a chemical exfoliant, I love Paula's Choice BHA gel. It's get inside the pores and unclogs rather than just scrubbing the outer layer off. It's amazing and lasts ages. Oh and I try to wear as little makeup as possible, just concealer where needed.

What would you recommend to girls starting out in the industry?

Believe that you are capable of anything but stay grounded and don't let it get to your head. Beware of creepy photographers, do plenty of research before agreeing to a shoot and don't pay loads for a portfolio! I learnt the hard way.

How do you survive a casting?
Ah castings, don't be intimidated by the other stunning models in the room! Breathe, believe you're going to get the job but don't be disheartened if you don't hear back. Just go in, be confident, and then forget about it.

What is the one beauty product you could not live without?
Lip balm, hate the feel of dry lips, and eyebrow powder/pencil. Cannot go outside without my eyebrows filled in! It's amazing how thicker, fuller eyebrows can instantly frame your face and make you look younger!
